Zavista ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Zavista mobile application and related web services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

By creating an account or using Zavista, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, username, and password.

Profile information: You may choose to add a profile photo, bio, or other details to your profile.

Content: Videos, photos, comments, and other content you create, upload, or publish through the Service.

Business information: If you register a merchant account, we collect your business name, address, phone number, category, operating hours, and other details about your business.

Communications: When you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide in your messages.

Information Collected Automatically

Device information: Device model, operating system and version, app version, unique device identifiers, language and timezone settings, and IP address.

Usage information: How you interact with the Service, including content you view, search queries, features you use, session duration, and the time and date of your activity.

Location information: We collect approximate location from your IP address to provide location-relevant content. If you grant permission through your device settings, we may collect precise location from your device to enable location-based discovery features. You can disable precise location access at any time in your device settings.

Log and diagnostic data: Crash reports, performance data, and error logs to help us identify and fix problems.

Information From Other Sources

Mapping services: We use mapping services to geocode locations and display maps within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including the video discovery feed, business profiles, and map-based features
  • Personalize your experience by showing content and recommendations relevant to your location and interests
  • Create and maintain your account and authenticate your identity
  • Process and display content you upload or publish
  • Send you service-related communications, including verification codes, account notifications, and responses to your inquiries
  • Monitor and enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines, including content moderation
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Analyze usage trends and measure the performance of our features to improve the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

With service providers: We work with third-party companies that help us operate, maintain, and improve the Service. These providers only access your information as needed to perform services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it.

With other users: Content you post publicly (videos, comments, profile information) is visible to other users of the Service and may be visible to non-users through share links.

For legal reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law, in response to a valid legal request (such as a court order or subpoena), or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Zavista, our users, or the public.

Business transfers: If Zavista is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

With your consent: We may share your information in other ways if you direct us to or provide your consent.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored on servers located in the United States. If you are located outside the United States (including in Canada), your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest, access controls, and regular monitoring. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or security purposes.

Content you have posted publicly may continue to appear in other users' saved content or cached versions even after your account is deleted.

Log and diagnostic data is retained for up to 90 days. Analytics data may be retained in aggregated, non-identifiable form for longer periods.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access and correction: You can view and update your account information at any time through the app settings. You may also request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Deletion: You can delete your account at any time from within the app. You may also request deletion of specific content or data by contacting us.

Withdraw consent: Where we rely on your consent to process your information (such as precise location), you can withdraw consent at any time through your device settings or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Location controls: You can enable or disable precise location access through your device settings at any time. Disabling precise location may limit certain features of the Service.

Notifications: You can manage push notification preferences through your device settings.

To exercise any of these rights, you can use the in-app settings or contact us at the address provided below. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Zavista is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services, including merchant websites, social media platforms, and mapping services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through Zavista.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means before the changes take effect. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
